TECHNICAL WHITEPAPER · 2026
Metering-grade rotor pump dosing technology
Published by Hebei Guangteng Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. (Grounton Pak, brand GROUNTON) · Botou, Cangzhou, Hebei, China
1. Scope
This whitepaper describes the use of a metering-grade rotor pump as the dosing element in filling equipment for liquid, paste, particulate and high-viscosity products. It covers the metering principle, accuracy control, viscosity and particle limitations, hygienic design, acceptance testing and the project data required to specify a machine.
2. The metering-grade rotor pump principle
A rotor pump displaces a defined volume per revolution. In a conveying application the pump is designed to move product with minimal damage and with efficiency as the priority. In a metering application the same family of pump is designed so that displaced volume is known, repeatable and stable across the working viscosity range — the pump becomes the measuring instrument.
- No piston, no narrow valve seat: solids pass through the rotor geometry instead of being blocked or crushed.
- Servo drive: volumetric delivery is controlled by rotational displacement rather than pneumatic pressure and time.
- Viscosity tolerance: a single pump type can serve 50 cSt to 300,000 cSt by configuration.
- CIP-compatible: the flow path can be designed for clean-in-place circulation.
3. Accuracy and what affects it
| Variable | Effect on fill accuracy | Control measure |
|---|---|---|
| Pump displacement | Primary determinant of dose volume | Correct LX pump size for the fill range (LX-9 to LX-60) |
| Product viscosity and temperature | Changes slip and fill behaviour | Temperature control upstream; heated hopper where required |
| Particle content and size | Affects repeatability if the valve restricts flow | Sauce cut-off or full-immersion valve matched to the product |
| Container geometry and positioning | Spillage and variation if the nozzle does not match the neck | Filling station built to the actual container |
| Air in the product | Volume measurement error | Degassing upstream; agitated hopper |
Published manufacturer figures: ±0.5% filling accuracy, error ≤1 g. Project acceptance values are confirmed in the technical agreement.
4. Reference data — GTX series
| Model | Pump | Fill range | Power |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTX-900 | LX-9 | 5 – 50,000 ml | 0.75 / 1 kW |

| GTX-3000 / 3600 | LX-36 | 10 – 200,000 ml | 1.5 / 2.25 kW |
| GTX-6000 | LX-60 | 20 – 300,000 ml | 2.3 / 3.05 kW |
